Vision Church was founded on the grace and love of Jesus Christ. We believe that we are all in need of that grace to make it through life. And we can know that grace by understanding the author of grace in the following ways:
God the Father spoke all that we know into existence at the beginning of time. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When he gave us his name, "I Am", he was also showing us the vastness of his presence and power. God so loved us, the pinnacle of all His creation, and desired to make a way for us to be together with him for eternity that he sent Jesus, his only Son, who would die in our place to satisfy the wages of our sin and was resurrected from the dead in order to show God's power over even the grave. God is the definition of righteous, just, and holy. He rules and reigns over all and serves as final judge over all.
Jesus the Son was with the Father in the beginning. He was born of a virgin, Mary, and lived a life without sin, even though he faced the same temptations of life that we all have known. Jesus' ministry was marked by powerful miracles as guided and aided by the power of the Holy Spirit. He chose to take upon himself the wages of sin for all mankind. Crucified as a criminal on the cross, he took captive the keys of death, hell, and the grave before being physically resurrected on the third day. This proves his power over everything of the world under the authority of the Father. He appeared to thousands after his resurrection before he ascended into heaven to sit at the right of the Father as our intercessor. Christ will come again the fullness of his glory to claim the church, his bride, and usher in a new earth with a reign that will have no end.
The Holy Spirit was promised to us by Christ upon his ascension. He fell on the disciples gathered together in Acts and gave birth to the church. The Holy Spirit works to draw us closer to Christ and then resides within us after salvation to help us grow closer to Christ throughout our lives. The Spirit is fully God and fully Christ present with us at all times.
The works of the Spirit begin prior to salvation, in a way wooing us towards the love of Jesus. As the Spirit moves into our life, he becomes the promised Helper, Comforter, and Guide. The Spirit reveals his presence in our lives through the revelation of fruit that grows within us as evidence of his presence in our lives. Miracles are made possible in our lives by his power and presence.
Scripture, as contained in the Holy Bible, is inspired by the Holy Spirit, written by the hand of man, and serves as the authority of God's truth for his people. It is inerrant in its inspiration through the Spirit. It is time tested and all sufficient for what every person needs. As we read it, the Spirit helps it to become alive for us, allowing us to harvest the fullness of God's truth found within its pages. God's Word is true, never changing, and the final say on all matters of faith and life.
Baptism is an impartation of grace by God and the recognition of the life altaring change that the presence of God brings into our lives at salvation. Baptism is open to all who have made a decision for Christ as their personal Savior as well as for those who have decided to return to Christ after a time of wandering. Dying to the old self under the grave of water, a believer rises from the water a new creation in Christ Jesus displaying and proclaiming the change that has come through the blood of Christ.
Communion is another precious outflow of God's grace in our lives. It is a time to remember the cost of our salvation as we hold elements that remind us of the body that was broken and the blood that was shed for us in Christ Jesus. The table belongs to the Lord, therefore we welcome any and all who earnestly repent of their sins to come to the table, regardless of membership in our church.
